The Realities

In Iunism, there are five different planes of existence, called “Realities”. Our mortal realm, called “Aedoehn”, is the only reality which we can exist in without consequences. It is considered the middle reality, and the most physical of the five where each Doesh has had an equal hand in exerting influence.

The Realities do not follow any order (there is no first, second, third, etc.), nor are they considered to exist in a separate, but relative, position to Aedoehn. They are thought to exist simultaneously and overlapping one another, which allows ease of travel between them for beings that can do so. However, the Realities are often mapped out or depicted in a five point diagram in the shape of a cross or plus sign. Aedoehn is always in the intersection, and the other Realities are placed at the extending lines.

“Arouihn” is the deathless Reality where those who reside there cannot die (though, it is believed if natives of Arouihn travel to other Realities, they are able to be killed elsewhere). This also means that these beings do not experience compassion, and their emotional states and mannerisms are more spontaneous. The most powerful arbiters here are known to use their great powers of creation to mimic change, influencing the environment to suit their whims, and possessing shape-altering abilities to appear however they see fit. Beings of Arouihn often describe themselves as merry-makers, fair ones, or liken themselves to mortal beings to various degrees.

“Perrohn” is the soulless Reality, and beings that originate here, as a result, are believed to possess little ambition, ego, and cannot create. This leaves room for intellectual prowess and a greater understanding  and recognition of truth. It is common for natives of Perrohn to resort to bargaining and making deals, the likes of which are traditionally providing knowledge in exchange for using the souls of those they enter contract with.

“Exiahn” is the timeless Reality, and is thought to be the home most associated with the divine. The beings that exist here are simultaneously alive and dead; without time, their lives cannot progress, like trying to light a flame without oxygen. This is where the beings of Perfect Flesh reside, as the instantaneous moments of life and death, with the capacity for creation, results in a repeating form endlessly without the capacity for consciousness.

“Uorehn”is the lifeless Reality. It is commonly accepted in Iunism that primarily beings from Aedoehn are transferred here after dying, and that Doesh Iduor frequently appears here. No living thing can enter its borders, and it is thought that it would be immensely cold here (as life is related to heat and the sun). Also known as the Land of Mists, the depths of this Reality are unknown, though many beings here are thought to be the most relative and familiar to Aedoehn.
